Brian S. Karpe

HeadshotAttorney Karpe has multi-jurisdictional and multi-faceted experience for effectively representing clients in estate planning, elder law, probate, personal injury, workers’ compensation, professional liability, family law and criminal defense cases.

With regard to estate planning and elder law, Attorney Karpe furthered his education and knowledge by obtaining his Master of Laws degree (LL.M.). The LL.M. degree indicates that an attorney has acquired advanced, specialized legal training beyond law school. Attorney Karpe focused his Master of Laws degree specifically on estate planning and elder law.

In 1985, Attorney Karpe began practicing law in Colorado representing clients in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. To be closer to his family, he returned to his home state of Connecticut. Upon admission to the Connecticut bar, Attorney Karpe represented clients in cases such as personal injury, workers’ compensation, real estate and criminal defense. He has also held several special public defender contracts in which he successfully defended clients charged with very serious felonies including murder, assault, kidnapping, rioting in a correctional facility and sexual abuse.

Attorney Karpe also has insurance defense experience with a Fortune 100 company overseeing the litigation of very large cases having policy limit exposures in excess of $1,000,000. Most recently, he was associated with a well-known Hartford law firm.
